Price Party of 7

Knowing when god wants us to say YES....
Does anyone really know the answer to this??
Maybe Isaiah 41:10 is a good verse for saying yes

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

A lot of you know that when we started the adoption process we felt like god was calling us to adopt 2 girls. However when we were matched with Derline she was the only girl available at that time. We went to meet her and that is when we met Juvens.. Thinking that we were suppose to adopt 2 children from Haiti we were at peace with that. We felt this was gods plan for us to adopt a boy and a girl from the country of Haiti.

Then we added on to our house. We added 3 bedrooms and a playroom we added over 800 sq feet to our home. Well all of a sudden had plenty of room. More room than we ever thought we would have in our current home. We felt very blessed to have been able to add this space to our house. We were blessed with friends and family that helped us make it happen. All of this extra room really started to play on us... Why did we have so much extra space. Most people would love the extra space they would have an office or a guest bedroom. Well not us we were left saying why god? why did you give us this extra space? Do we have room for one more? Maybe a sister for Derline. Maybe there was 2 little girls in Haiti for us. I know what you are thinking you can't possibly be saying you want to bring 3 children home from Haiti?? You must be crazy.... Only crazy people would think of doing something like that!

Well meet "Team Crazy" ... AKA Zach and Karena Price
This is exactly what we started thinking. We could bring home 3 kids from Haiti. We have always wanted 5 children and if we are going to add 3 by adoption we would rather it be all at once so we could start getting use to our new "normal" when the kids come home. We could start living our new life as Price party of 7. I know a lot of you are saying Crazy Crazy Crazy! Well that is ok with us we decided that if we were going to be crazy about something why not be crazy about adoption!
Something God our father is telling us all to do through scripture.

~Psalms 68:5-6 “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling, God sets the lonely in families . . .”

~Jeremiah 22:3, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Do justice and righteousness . . . do no wrong or violence to the alien, the fatherless and the widow.’”

~James 1:27 - Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

~Matthew 18:5 - And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me.

~Psalms 82:3-4 - Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

So how did this all happen?? We had asked Chris the orphanage director where our kids are if there were any little girls around the same age of Derline that were now available. We learned about Sophia. Zach and I have been praying about this for the last few months. Wanting god to really just say yes to us somehow! We got the opportunity to meet little Sophia in February when we were there on family visit. Chris was going to bring her over for the day on Wednesday and let her spend some time with us. Well late Tuesday night we ended up having to make arrangement's to come home a day early. We woke up Wednesday morning knowing that we probably were not going to get to meet Sophia. We told our self Wednesday morning that this must not be gods plan for us. We started calling Chris to tell her not to bring Sophia that we were going to be leaving a day early. Chris didn't answer her phone we must have called her 10 times. She finally answered she had just arrived at the hotel we were staying at with some other kids and she had Sophia! We got to spend about 15 minutes with her before we had to rush out of the hotel leaving Derline and Juvens to head to the airport. So many emotions that day. Leaving a day early we didn't get to say goodbye to everyone. We didn't get to see everyone we thought we were going to see. My heart was breaking from seeing this shy, sad, sweet little girl who also needed a mommy. I had got to hold her and kiss her and just take her all in for a few moments all while I wasn't paying attention to my other 2 little's and we were getting ready to leave them for another 3 months possibly longer.

This past month has been a roller coaster ride for us and not a fun one! We had been approved by our social worker for 3 children but when it went back to our agency here in Indiana they said there policy was to only approve 2 per placement. So now we were left with a hard decision do we fight for Sophia or do we except it and just bring the 2 kids home. Well I am a fighter so we decided to fight.. We have found a new home study company who is fine with placing 3 children at a time and we will be having our home study rewrote. A small detour in how we thought things were going to happen but in the end we know this was all part of Gods plan. Adoption is not easy. Everyday holds the possibility of a miracle. Zach and I are at peace with this decision. We have felt god working on this with us all along the way.

We would like everyone to meet our daughter Sophia.  Her birthday is 06/01/2010 and she is 2 months older than Derline and they have become buddies in the nursery! The meaning of Sophia is Wisdom and boy oh boy has she already taught us a lot!  She looks so sad and scared in these pictures but please remember we only had about 15 minutes with her! I was thrilled that she let me hold her!! I love her eyes I think she has the prettiest eyes! Zach did not hold her he payed attention to the other 2 little's and took some pictures of Sophia!  We have not decided on a middle name for her yet but we are pretty certain we will be keeping Sophia as her first name!

So that is it for now.... Price party of 7.... We are bringing 3 Haitian Babies Home to Indiana... Derline, Juvens and Sophia ... Like it or leave it ..... We have no shame in our game!

While We Wait ~ Letter to our kids in Haiti

What a beautiful day it was today. It was March 17th St. Patrick's day and it was 80 degrees today!! That doesn't happen much here in Indiana. I know that a 80 degree day is nothing for Haiti!! It should still be cold here snow on the ground but none of that. Just a beautiful summer like day... Wesley played outside today and he talked about you guys..... He told us that if Juvens and Derline were here we would be jumping on our trampoline and playing in the yard... We all long for the day when you all come home. We think and talk about you daily! Tonight we had our first ice cream cone of the summer season!! Busy Bee in Rensselaer yum!! Something we are sure you all will love! We aren't sure if we will make it for the May visit we are sure going to try. We would love to come just trying to work out a few things here! With a little luck and some help from God hopefully we will be there!!

I just want you to know that not a day goes by that we aren't praying for god to move mountains and make things all fall into place for this adoption to happen faster! We know that you are growing up and we are missing out on all kinds of things in your life and that makes us sad. We are also sad that you don't have a mama and papa to tuck you in at night and say bedtime prayers. Someday my sweet little brown babies someday we will all be together and all this waiting will see so far away as if it never even happen... Oh what a day that will be!!

Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made know to god and the peace of god which surpases all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through jesus christ

Until next time ~ Love you bunches ~ Mama
