God's Work... Full Circle!

Ok I know its not the greatest picture but it has a wonderful story behind it! You see this picture was taken about 15 years ago that is me all dressed up and looking so fine and that is my friend Martha... I had just meet Martha a few months before at a church event that I attended and she was my "mom" for the time I was there.  I thought she was an amazing lady and had a blast the few days that I was with her. Well she was at my sunshine dance because of the guy she was dating at the time his daughter was also there and they were chaperoning!

So you might now be asking how is this God's Work ..... Full Circle ?? Well Martha just came back into my life she now has a business Marketing Martha and she did our school pto spirit wear this year... The "first" time I meet her something was telling me I know this lady... I wasn't really sure and then she said to me I think I have meet you somewhere but I am just not for sure.... So I left that day thinking where do I know this lady from... I thought and thought about it until I remembered this picture and I was sure it was her! I dug it out and sent it to her and with in a few minutes she was calling me saying how did you ever think of this picture! She told me that I made her week and we talked for a few minutes and about how we knew each other!

God's Work Full Circle ....... I had asked Martha to do our shirts for our adoption fundraiser it is so amazing how god works in our lives and brings people in and out of them at the right time. I am so happy that I have found Martha and I am thrilled she is going to be doing our adoption shirts!!

This here will be what our shirts look like they will be available in Navy, Kelly Green, Brown and Pink the writing will all be white.. I am very excited about these as this is just another step towards our goal of bringing home our little girl.

Brown Sugar Brownies

Brown Sugar Brownies
( Bow Chica Wow Wow) Just say it once and see if when Brown Sugar Brownies rolls off your tongue it doesn't make you want to say
Bow Chica Wow Wow!

These were really yummy and I made them at the spur of the moment from a new recipe book I got for Christmas! They are unlike anything I have ever had before and I think they are better the next day... As much as I wanted to eat them all up when they came out of the oven I was glad I waited!

1 1/2 cups of Butter
1 1/2 Pounds of Dark Brown Sugar
5 Eggs
4 Cups of Flour
3 1/2 Tsp of Baking Powder
3/4 Tsp of Salt
1 Package of Butterscotch Chips

Melt over low heat Brown Sugar and Butter

Beat in 1 egg at a time

In small bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt and sift
add this to brown sugar mixture and then stir in butterscotch chips.

Grease a 15 x 10 x 2 pan and pour mixture in pan

Cook on 350 for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and firm

Let cool overnight for ultimate enjoyment!

Simply Wonderful

So we went up to Portillo's on Friday night and Yum-O... I would of never thought that a Chicago style hot dog would be one of my favorite things in the world!! I love these things they taste so wonderful!! I am kind of glad that Portillo's is a little farther away because if it wasn't I would be eating there all the time! These hot dogs are the best and NO KETCHUP! They also have some wonderful cheese fries and to die for desserts! The boys were very happy to be eating at Portillo's!
We Love Portillo's

After Portillo's we seen that their was a new Orange Julius across the street so I decided we were going to get one.. It has been years since we had an Orange Julius and I took the first taste and I said "ahh just like I remembered" They kids really liked them and I was glad! We love our Merrillville Trips!!

Five Question Friday

Its Friday..... Its Friday..... Its F-F-F-F-F- Friday

1. Would you rather be on ABC's Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC's What not to Wear?

Extreme Home Make Over for sure!! I love that show... I would even be happy with them just adding on a few rooms for me I don't need a whole new house!! I mean I would take a whole new house but I'm just saying I wouldn't have to have a whole new house!! I have always wondered where oh where do they put all your stuff at and do you get to keep it... I have a lot of things that I am pretty attached to!

2. Do you have any tattoos?
I sure do I have a tattoo of a 3 leaf clover on the top of my right foot... It is about the size of a quarter and really it didn't hurt. I got this one for my love of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish!! I really want another one on my foot down by my ankle but I have been told that its not a good spot for a tattoo... hmmm so that leaves me thinking what to do what to do!

3. Do you tell your kids about things you did growing up?
Some times but usually they have no clue what we are talking about and they totally don't get it! lol.... so that just leaves me scratching my head and saying why do I bother!

4. If the traffic signal turns yellow, do you stop or speed up?

Well it kind of depends on where I am at in the process of the light..... If I am already committed I speed up but if I am still back enough I will stop.... And sometimes if I have already had my share of yellow/red lights I will most definitely speed up just to break the cycle get through that light and then have a handful of green lights!!

5. What's your preference: chocolate or chips?

I prefer Chocolate Chips! Yum-O ...... you know really it kind of really depends on my mood or time of the month! ha.... Sometimes you want something salty.... and chips really do the trick and other times you want some have to have some chocolate! I really can't say I prefer one over the other!!

Snow Day

What screams fun about inches and inches of snow lots of cold weather, ice and sleet... Well if your a school aged kid its the perfect combination for a snow day!! What does a snow day mean... Well no school for starters and then if your really lucky some good old fashion sledding maybe some inside fun or some yummy goodies! Well it didn't exactly work out that way for our boys... but they did get to have some fun sledding!! I wasn't for sure how Wesley would like it and well lets just say he loved it! I think they could of stayed out there for hours and hours... But me being a mom and all and not wanting them sick.. I decided when it was time to go.. I would say we probably stayed out for just about an hour! All in All everyone had fun!!

Yum-O

I sure wish I had the stuff at home to make these!! I will be getting it this weekend I am sure of it!!

Its Not An Automatic One

So having a 3 year old that is still in the potty training phase can be pretty fun... Well yeah I guess you can call it fun when your a mom and your three year old is a boy... Normally when we are out I have Zach take Wesley to the Men's restroom because well that's where Wesley is suppose to go potty at right... This is something that I have decided that I like about having boys!! Daddy gets to take them potty when we are out and about!! Well the other night we were at the Olive Garden to eat and Zach was parking the car so I decided to be the good mom/wife and decided to take Wesley to the bathroom... We went in and he sees the toilet and says "Its Not An Automatic One" I looked and I laughed..... Too funny I knew what he meant so I had to snap a picture and capture this moment! It was just the cutest thing and made me smile! After me and Wesley got done using the bathroom I then showed him how to flush one that isn't an automatic one..... And of  Course Mommies it is with my foot!!

Well its not all that often that we get a weather forecast of 100% chance of a Blizzard!! That's right I said Blizzard.. The kids were out of school today and my guess is probably will be Wednesday and Thursday as well. This storm means business its one for the ages!! I am pretty excited about some Thundersnow!! That's right I said Excited about Thundersnow!! I just think it would be cool once.. They have said that it could dump up to 4 inches an hour during this Thundersnow period! I know the boys are very excited about getting outside to play in the snow.. They want to try out there new sleds that santa brought them and Wesley had been dying to build a snowman!! So we shall see hopefully we all get a snow day tomorrow. I think everyone could use a good snow day every now and then!
